Display Computer Slot AGP PCI ISA Slot Information Linux Fedora dmidecode command



Configuration for GNU Linux Fedora Computer using Linux Command

 

   Display information on available slot including AGP slot, PCI slot and ISA slot on Linux Fedora computer using dmidecode command.  The command example below show the use of Linux dmidecode command to display information on all available slot on your computer, this include display the information on AGP slot, PCI slot and ISA slot.

Linux command example:

/usr/sbin/dmidecode --type slot

or  same as

dmidecode --type 9

 

The dmidecode --type slot could give the output on:

9     System Slots

 

The dmidecode --type slot command output example:

        Current Usage: Available

        Length: Long

        ID: 2

        Characteristics:

                5.0 V is provided

                PME signal is supported

 

Handle 0x0903, DMI type 9, 13 bytes.

        Designation: PCI Slot 3(P3)

        Type: 32-bit PCI

        Current Usage: Available

        Length: Long

        ID: 3

        Characteristics:

                PME signal is supported

        Current Usage: Unknown

        Length: Long

Wrong DMI structures length: 1225 bytes announced, structures occupy 1219 bytes.

Today we have many options of hardware, operational systems and software, general prices had gone down, and some cell phones are Hardwareexpensive than a computer. And what about quality? Well, seem that the border is not so clear, and there are some pretty expensive machines out there, that don't last as long as we expect.
