Check and display USB device on Linux Fedora

   The lsusb command can be use to check or display the list of USB device connected to the Linux Fedora system.  The lsusb is a Linux utility that can be use to check the USB busses in the system and all USB device that connected to the USB busses.  The example below demonstrate the use of lsusb command on Linux Fedora 9 machine.

The lsusb command below show the USB busses on Linux Fedora system is not connected to any USB device:

[root@fedora ~]# lsusb

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

[root@fedora ~]#

 

The lsusb command below show the example of the lsusb command output when the USB busses have the USB device connected to the USB buses.

Display connected USB device on Linux Fedora system

[root@fedora ~]# lsusb

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 058f:6390 Alcor Micro Corp. USB 2.0-IDE bridge

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
